Contact Information

I'd like to introduce myself and provide my contact information. My name is Cathy Goldstein Mullin. I'm a psychiatric therapist with a private practice in Wenham, Massachusetts. I am also on the staff of a North Shore teaching hospital. I work with preadolescents, adolescents and adults who have mood and anxiety disorders, self-esteem issues, adolescent problems, trauma, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and personality disorders.

I believe that people can get well. I work collaboratively with my clients to address how we will attack their problems. I am very practical and I give homework. I think a lot of people's problems have to do with the negative, and often false, commentary they give themselves daily. By changing their internal messages, they often change how they feel about themselves. I also work with people on changing behaviors when these behaviors are self-sabotaging. If I were to label my school of therapeutic thought, it is a cognitive behavioral one.

I believe strongly that with work, people can become who they wish to become. I have written a book on attacking depression called If I Could Just Snap Out of It, Don't You Think I Would? The book provides a nine-month, calendar-based plan for beating depression. The book will be available for purchase in the fall of 2011 (perhaps before) on this site.
