What is Generalized Anxiety?

Those who have Generalized Anxiety feel like they have hard cherry pits forever lodged in their stomachs. They wake up saying good morning to the pits and bid them adieu at night. But don't get me wrong. It is no sweet relationship. If those with this disorder could send the pits flying, they would, but these pits are determined to hang around.

If cherry pits weren't enough, those with this disorderhave difficulty concentrating, trouble sleeping, rapid heart beats, and irritability. Why? Because they worry constantly and fear just about everything. While this list is only a starter one, those with this disorder worry about automobile accidents, plane crashes, nuclear disasters, nuclear war, AIDS, cancer, break-ins, Columbine-like shootings, toxic waste, kidnappings, shoot-outs, home invasions, loved ones dying, hurricanes, tornadoes, strong undercurrents...

You get the drift.

Those with this disorder worry constantly. As much as they'd like to, they cannot stop. For information on treating this constant worry, go to Best Treatments for Generalized Anxiety
